Guest guest
Hello Tom, My son is studying reiki. I had reiki done a few times myself and I had a feeling of lightness. It was very relaxing to me. So I am hoping my son finishes then I can get free reiki!! Anyhow that is my own personal experience with reiki. I do believe it is a inner feeling. Sincerely, Heidi
Guest guest
I am a practicing psychologist with some knowledge of Reiki. The technique involves the laying on of hands with the belief that it redirects one's " life energy " . It is not recognized as an effective treatment for any disorder, but does seen to enhance peace of mind. Serious practitioners go away to mountain retreats, lay on hands, etc. No doubt you will feel better getting away to a mountain retreat and getting an intimate massage. I have known practitioners who get a weekend of training and then claim to know how to help others. Such claims are dangerous and may persuade gullible people to avoid truly helpful health care. If you can practice reiki as a stress management strategy, then it can, as I say, contribute to peace of mind. And we can always use a good dose of that. Good luck. Guest guest
I have had Reiki. It really helped me but when I got up from the treatment I was light headed but after a couple minutes I was fine. Seth
Guest guest
Marti, Thank you for answering. After trying Reiki For over a month I noticed my CMT aches were decreasing and I had more flexibility in my hands. I had fewer cramps in my legs and feet.I was less depressed.I had more joy in life. Who knows if it is the Reiki, or just some magic placebo.? Who cares? I wasn't sure if Reiki was a bunch of Hoo-Hoo or not but I decided it was worth a try. It was better than thinking Poor me and doing nothing. The attunement was very easy and moving. The meditation was the easiest I've used. I have been meditating for a number of years, so I'm sure my mind is open to alternate ideas because I have that experience. I have used it on my Husband who now has fewer aches and pains. I have used it on my 14 year old son who is now more agreeable, and less combative. Both tell me they feel it is helping. Both tell me they feel something when I lay my hands on them. Anyway I whole-heartedly recommend giving it a try. If you look on line you can find free attunements to get started.(grassrootsreiki.com) It works, at least for me and the others I have talked to. I have benefited from Reiki so much I am now in the process of becoming a Certified Reiki care person, perhaps even teaching in the future. Everyone can benefit from Reiki and it should be free if possible.OK Enough LOL ----Glad to hear you have tried therapeutic touch and it helped. Touch is very healing. Studies show elderly people who have someone to hug them live longer. Premature babies who have someone to hold them thrive and survive. Where as babies left alone and untouched die more frequently.
