Guest guest
Sharon, I've taken a couple of DNS courses including an introductory course from Dr. Kolar and the DNS-A course. I've incorporated some of it into my rehab work. I think the emphasis on NMS development is crucial. Kolar has built on the work of his predecessors and added new information from his own work. I have two criticisms, though. One is that the reflex motor stimulation work seems a bit off the wall. I suspect it is not reproducible between practitioners and, furthermore, it is not what it is purported to be. Not everyone has this ideally full motor response to the stimulation. Some have a partial response. Some not at all. This brings me to my second concern. Pavel has published very little about his work. I understand he has written a text, but it is in Czech and has not yet been translated. And there is little published research in the evidence-based literature. This is critical if his work is to become integrated as a part of accepted healthcare interventions. The only article I've seen published, at least in English, is one on diaphragmatic movement studied by MRI. But I agree that it's good stuff! Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. I believe more chiropractors need to have better knowledge of movement dysfunctions and their correction, whether they learn how to do it themselves or refer patients to those who do. Burke > > FYI.
