Guest guest
Welcome Elaine!!! You are gonna love this group. I was clumsy as a child and called all sorts of names. I finally got diagnosed when I was in my forties. I had so many doctors telling me the pain was all in my head and the foot drop was because I was lazy. I ass so happy when I finally found a doctor that said, hey you have CMT. Now I live life and do the best I can each day. I have no feeling from my knees down or in my hands. I wear welding gloves to cook in to keep from getting unwanted burns, and yes they make ladies welding gloves and they fit great!! When I have the EMG test I never feel them, I guess this is good. I have a friend here locally who has CMT and to look at us you would think I have no problems, she is crippled in her hands and feet and she is deaf but she feels every shock on the EMG test. So I know CMT can affect us all different. My sense of humor get me through a lot. Life is to short to be unhappy. My motto now is keep smiling it makes people wonder what you have been up to!!!!! Again, welcome. Cathleen in Arkansas
