Guest guest
To all thanks again for your input, Gretchen as always my respect. I guess all of our symptoms are different. My legs or feet just went numb, no pain, but my hands that's a different story. Anyone with stomach muscle problems or just nauseated all the time? Right now I will have to stick with the patch and Cymbalta, Ativan helps my stomach somewhat. I had thyroid surgery and that triggered my CMT I think, it has taken six weeks to settle down. Anesthesia will do it every time. What exercise do you do for hands? Sometimes this is too much, I try to keep them warm and that helps. I was on Oxycontin for 5 years so I really was spoiled to no pain and being active, once again your support helps me knowing we are never alone. Appreciate all responses. Guest guest
My doctor told me two simple stretches that help my hand pain. First stand or sit with your arms stretched out to your sides shoulder high, now flex the hands upward and hold for a five count, let hand relax and repeat five time. The other is to extend your arms straight out in front of you, flex your hand hold for five and repeat five times. I do this several times a day it is simple and helpful. Cathleen ps. I found it interesting that anesthisia makes your CMT worse and your pain worse. After any surgery I have ever had I feel no pain for several weeks, I use this time to get off pain meds so I can start over when the pain comes back. CMT sure is different in everyone of us.
