I have had this test done twice and it was never bad. I guess I have less

sensation than some others have. I was 14 the first time and the first prick

from the pins hurt, but that is all that was really uncomfortable.

I had it done again about 5 years ago and it didn't bother me a bit. I had very

little shocking pains during the procedure. I can relate to being around 15 and

scared to death. I too had some emotional issues after being sent to a HUGE

hospital in Houston, Texas for tests.

I was scared out of my mind. I had never been to a doctor much at all since

birth, and was from a small town in Louisiana. The doctors and the hospital

really scared me. Along with the nerve tests, I had a muscle biopsy and a spinal

tap. I was not close to my mother and was very independent. I guess this made it

hard for me because I held it all in and was scared to death. I couldn't wait to

leave that place!!
