Ellen,

If you only want to slim down and you don't have diabetes or cardio problems,

then do Leptin diet,

There are 5 rules, and #1 is most important, not to eat after dinner,

http://www.wellnessresources.com/leptin_diet.php

(don't eat after 6 pm if you go to sleep around 11 pm) - this is a rule to stick

with, no matter what diet you try.

If you already have diabetes and cardio issues, then do fat free diet  - Dr.

Ornish diet or Dr. Barnard, have to be on fat free temporary, till you reverse

your condition (to clean up intramyocellular lipids),

after that you can add a little healthy fats ( one egg a week, some fish or

grass fed beef once a week, and so on)

Barnard diet

if you have any allergies - (the allergies are caused by intestinal

permeability -leaky gut syndrome)

then do Body Ecology Diet -excluding fructose, lactose and some other food

restrictions temporary, till you get your gut restored.

you can find any of those books in public library.
