Guest guest
I just mess with my memory every time I have one. Another batch of cells that won't work again. I have spells where I can't remember my phone number, my Social Security number, once it was what side of the road to drive on - I figured that one out by knowing that in England they drove on the opposite side of the road from us and they drove on the left. Some days I'm fine and some days I have a Swiss cheese brain. ; ) Willow --- Borkowski <julieborkowski@...> wrote: > oh my goodness Willow! Guest guest
Remember, I live in the boonies. We JUST got 911 service within the last year. I called an ambulance last December because when my son came to visit he had a grand mal seizure. There are 'first responders' who come and start taking down info before the paramedics get there - which was about 30 minutes. My first responder was very nice, well trained and about 80 years old. He moved a little slow. Not faulting him, not too happy with the system in emergencies. I don't know if the ambulance would have to take me to the closest hospital or if I can get them to take me to the hospital who carries the drug I need to stop me from bleeding. Guest guest
I don't know if you can get the regular number and ask?? All I know is we didn't get our ambulance until 1996 or so, before that the paramedics had to go from their house to the ambulance and then come. My fil maybe would have survived then instead but a neighbor took him in. He died 10 min before getting to the hospital. Me, I had an asthma attack and even my parents said that if my husband didn't take me in that i would have died in another 5- 10 min before getting to the hospital otherwise (2 years ago)(so I know what you mean when you say boondocks) (i live 20 mins from town, lucky the cops didn't catch my dh speeding at 120 mph to the hospital) I don'tknow if the ambulance would have to take me to theclosest hospital or if I can get them to take me tothe hospital who carries the drug I need to stop mefrom bleeding.Willow .. Guest guest
Hello As a summer student, I worked out in Kinsella, Alberta which is about as rural as you can get and still have roads. The company kept an ambulance on site so that in an emergency, we could head out right away rather than wait for help to arrive. We were briefed on what we could and couldn't do and legally as an ambulance, we were not allowed to exceed 80 kmph or roughly 50 mph even on the highway where the speed limit was 110 kmph (roughly 70 mph). They said that statistically, going faster increased the chances of being involved in a secondary accident, of course we all informally agreed that if one of us was hurt, we would drive as fast as possible.Regards,On Dec 8, 2006, at 12:39 PM, G wrote:I don't know if you can get the regular number and ask??All I know is we didn't get our ambulance until 1996 or so, before that the paramedics had to go from their house to the ambulance and then come.
