Guest guest
Hi! I'm Sharon from Whitehall, PA. I was just diagnosed with CMT 1 after two EMGs and have been told to get braces. I worked for Whitehall Public Library till December. A series of falls made it impossible for me to stand all day. The falls are what sent me to the doctors. I found out that I have a partially torn rotator cuff and torn cartilage in my right knee. After the knee is fixed and I've been fitted with braces I hope to return to the library. I love and miss it! No one in my family was ever diagnosed with CMT, though my daughter shows signs of it. That's what's scared me the most about this, having passed it on to my daughter. Otherwise, I have a positive attitude and strong faith. That's what drew me to this group, the emphasis on the positive. Since I don't know anyone with it (I'd never even heard of CMT before!), it's great to find a group like this. Thank God for the internet! It's also where I've gotten most of my information. The doctors I saw didn't have a lot of information until I got to the neurologist. How hard it must have been for any of you who were diagnosed before the internet was available. You must have felt so alone. Thanks for being there, Sharon
