Guest guest
Well, I loved college, but not until after I got my priorities straight. I went for my associates degree a year after high school and after switching majors several times, finally graduated 8 years after I started. I went part time and occasionally took semesters off. After I had my son and realized that I wanted him to have everything he needed, I decided to go back for my BA in education. So, as a single mom, with a baby on my lap, I graduated with honors with a degree in special education. I really believe that my disability has played a big role on my career choice and for that I am grateful.
Guest guest
Heidi, Glad to hear things are going well. I homeschooled my girls through high school. It worked out great. They started taking college classes early. We started at the community college and they moved on from there. College is so great. You meet people from all over and the negative things from high school are left behind. People are more accepting. I went to college and got my BS in Education and MS in Special Ed. while working part time. Worked with kids with learning and behavior problems and then into the regular classroom. Stayed home with our girls and home schooled them. Started back to work as an aide in special ed classrooms (working with kids without all the paperwork of the teacher) and am now working in the front office at our county fair and event center. Getting involved in helping to put on events and always looking for new events or better ways of handling the events we already have. Guest guest
Hello Liz, I think we talked before and yes I am in NH. You should be very proud of yourself for doing all you can to better yourself. Please email me anytime. I take a while to get back some times. With 5 kids, homeschooling and daycare program, it gets a bit crazy! But lots of fun!! Guest guest
Hey Gretchen, I guess we all have had to go through our struggles. You certainly have had more than your share and came out smiling. You are such a wonderful person with so much to offer. Heidi

Guest guest
I went to college and have a B.S. in Health and Wellness, took and excelled in MANY O.T. courses, but, my hands were too weak to cut splints and there were some other physical limitations to my FieldWorks so ended up finishing up with a B.S. outside of O.T. HOWEVER, had the BEST times with friends I met there than any time in life. I met so many people from other states, etc. and we played pranks on each other (I DORMED for two years) and just had a riot! Eventhough I will probably be paying back the student loans forever, I can reflect on college as a great experience overall and am glad to have those memories.
