Guest guest
Hi Tessie, I remember about 10 years ago I went to a podiatrist complaining of toe pain. My toes would rub the inside tops of my shoes. That's when I found out I had hammertoes. Never had heard of it before. That podiatrist had hard plastic orthotics molded for me. My experience was..they were awful. I would still slide in my shoes and still ended up walking on the sides of my feet. I had to finally stop wearing them. A second podiatrist saw them and immediately ordered cushioned orthotics with a cork center. They were much better. The cushioning helped alot and after a few weeks I didn't even know I had them in my shoes. I was also always buying the wrong kind of shoe/sneaker. All my life people told me I had wide feet and it seemed the wider shoe fit better. But after a consult with the podiatrist, she informed that I actually have narrow feet. She actually went to the shoe store with me and picked the sneaker she wanted me in. Finding the right sneaker/shoe and the right orthotic can make a world of difference. Best wishes, Elaina. Guest guest
Thank you everyone who responded to my post about hammertoes. Well right now I have New Balance shoes with special inserts my podiatrist made for me. Walking barefoot is totally out of the question. I guess I will try stretching excercises but even to touch my toes hurt like crazy. I do notice tho when I take off my shoes from a day of working and put my slippers on, my feet feel a whole lot better for at least awhile. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I sure do know how ya feel. After being in my sneakers for a work day I come home and off come the shoes.....for about an hour or two. After that I can't take walking barefoot. But I've been the kind of person who has never liked to wear shoes, even as a kid. My mother says it's the indian in me. Elaina.
