Seriously, does your state have an affordable plan for kids? Texas actually does, but I have no idea how good the coverage is. in Texas
Guest guest
California has an excellent low-income health care plan for kids. My son is enrolled in Blue Cross of Ca. under it. It's called healthy families and a family of 3 can qualify if you make under 33,000 a year combined and your child isn't eleigible for employee-sponsored coverage. It costs about $9 a month, with no deductibles. The Blue Cross option is the only decent one (you can also choose to be in a few different HMOs-no thanks!) We use Blue Cross EPO, in which you must choose their chosen providers but there's a LOT to choose from, including chiropractors. Dr. Goldberg is on the Blue Cross list. Come on over to CA! After my son was born, this program was the only reason I was able to stay at home and quit my job. I recall hearing some snide comments about how Texas was slow to implement the plan and got its hand slapped by the fed govt. Gaylen
Guest guest
Cathleen, Thanks for sharing your experience. Isn't Medicaid something else! I could go on and on about the Medicaid system in this country but that's would be a whole other forum. Elaina/NY
