introduction

I've been reading the posts for several months now, but wasn't savvy

enough with this message board thing to figure out how to post a

message. So today I worked at it and finally figured it out. Hope it

works!

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Karla, I'm 30 years old, live in

Canada. I have 2 kids, 4 year old, and 15 months old. I was diagnosed with CMT

type 2 in January, based on neuro exam and nerve conduction tests. Explained a

lot of things with balance and gait problems, weakness in feet etc. Now wearing

AFOs, and finding them awesome.

Also doing physio. I had some genetic testing done this week, so we'll see how

that turns out. I am the first in my family to actually have clinical signs,

but think that it came from my dad's side, since they have a history of

complaining of really cold feet.

I am really enjoying this website, thank you so much for all your advice.

Gretchen, I liked the pics of your dogs on the site, I'm

a veterinarian and a dog lover. I don't work in private practice

anymore, I'm a vet with the federal gov't ( I developed a bad allergy

to CATS would you believe it!!). I look forward to posting in the

future.
