Guest guest
Welcome ph, You have found a good group of people who understand what you live with. At 39 I'm just really starting to see the effects of CMT but as I look back I realize now that it has been with me since about 5 years old. I am learning alot here on how to deal and cope with CMT and I hope you find help and hope here also. Elaina/NY
Guest guest
Hi ph, I am 70 years old, CMT1B runs in family, diagnosed just this past year. Drs. in PA seem to be unfamiliar with CMT also. I too had same symptoms you had with the running, etc. And, I fell a lot the past few years - however, and I do think this helps, I started Alpha Lipoic Acid about a year ago as my neurologist said it would help with the peripheral neuropathy (the diagnosis before the CMT diagnosis). Well, for the past 9 months - no falls. I really do think it is the Alpha Lipoic Acid but I can't be sure - maybe I am just exercising more caution. I used to trip over my own foot as it would drag. I still walk " funny " but (knock on wood) I haven't fallen lately. Welcome to the group. I enjoy reading the posts and learning more about CMT. Sincerely, June in Pennsylvania
