Guest guest
K.C.- Very important...does your child have craniosynostosis? Is that the reason for the surgery?? Are your baby's suture lines prematurely fused/closed? If the suture lines are still open, (mind you I am no doctor), then get a second opinion. If your child has plagiocephaly, then they perhaps are not a candidate for surgery. You are in my thoughts, we'll say a little prayer for your family. Kimry also consider asking for a CT scan which can (from my understanding) help make a more accurate assessment of the suture lines...sometimes the suture lines can " appear " fused when rather they are curving inward, and more importantly, still open. Guest guest
Hi I'm not sure what's going on but my G.p told me that it looks like one side is starting to close. Tomorrow is the day we find out what really is going on. As for surgery they{the doctors }say that it is the only way you can fix a fused skull. Thanks for writing back. What stage are you and your family at in this ? >From: AAKARA@... >Reply-Plagiocephalyonelist >Plagiocephalyonelist >Subject: Re: Still do know! >Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2000 11:39:15 EST > >K.C.- >Very important...does your child have craniosynostosis? If you have not already done so, you may want to visit the Craniosynostosis and Parents support web site http://www.caps2000.org Thanks for writing back. Originally they suspected craniosynostosis, but the x-ray & ct scan showed that the suture lines were still open. Good luck tomorrow, I'll think good thoughts! Yes, surgery is the only way to correct it if the suture lines are fused. Let us know! Kimry
