Guest guest
My insurance said it isn't a medical necessity to have a DNA test, it doesn't change the treatment. Crazy we have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. in OK
Guest guest
Oh you don't know how distressed I was when I read you have BCBS. Why? Well I work for Medicare and our private insurance company companion is BCBS! We have the " government " aspect which is Medicare and the " private " aspect which is BCBS. So I'm a little embarrassed to say that I get paid by the government but make profit from BCBS. I don't know why you would be told that the test doesn't matter, only to say that each office in each state has their own standards of what is considered necessary and what isn't. I know more about the Medicare aspect of insurance, but it seems like if your neurologist ordered the test it should be at least partially covered. If you've already been diagnosed with CMT, I guess they would look at it as a way to save the company $$. Doesn't seem right though. Very sorry. Elaina. Guest guest
My Neurologist wrote my insurance a letter asking for the DNA test and they denied it because they claimed the treatment wouldn't be any different. We shall see what they do with MDA. I will keep you informed.
