Ooops. One more thing. I would say to be as assertive as everyone has

suggested... great advice,...however, be assertive about his right to

504 accommodations rather than an IEP.

Really, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (which

governs IEPs), the school was right to say that if he is doing ok

academically that they don't need to give him an IEP.

Sounds wrong, I know, but it is the system. And a real big problem

for lots of kids, especially kids who are gifted and have learning

disabilities,since chances are their grades are fine, but their

psychological frustration may be major bigtime problems.

So stick with the section 504, and you will get attention from the

school and what your son needs.
