Subject: [Alpha-Stim Forum] CES & MET Seminar - April 21, 2012 (Vancouver, WA) Dear practitioners: I am pleased to announce that we are holding another CES (cranial electrotherapy stimulation) and MET (microcurrent electrical therapy) certification seminar in the Portland/Vancouver area. Seminar date and location: VANCOUVER, WA – April 21st , 2012 (early registration deadline to receive a 20% discount on tuition: March 31st, 2012) (Two Park Place, 7500 NE 41st Street in Vancouver, WA 98662) This seminar is co-sponsored by the Washington State Psychological Association and participants will earn 7 CE hours*. Participants can also earn 7 General CE hours, 2 of which can be used for Pain Management, through the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine. The seminar tuition includes a resource manual and filing fees for CE Certificates. This one-day seminar offers a comprehensive overview of CES and MET and teaches an effective conceptual framework for integrating both modalities into the traditional psychological and pain management models. The seminar will examine the latest research on CES and present basic guidelines and recommendations on how to successfully incorporate CES into a clinical practice. Participants will examine real life treatment cases to see how CES and MET were used to improve therapeutic outcomes. The seminar will also offer hands-on demonstrations of how to administer both modalities. Additional course material will be presented this year, including the discussion of a new explanatory model of CES in the context of theories of brain neuroplasticity, CNS experience of pain and memory reconsolidation, with new implications for psychological trauma and pain treatments. No prior familiarity with electromedicine is required to attend and successfully complete this course. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Shultz of Vancouver, WA this year again. Dr. Shultz is a licensed psychologist with ample experience with applications of cranial electrotherapy stimulation in his clinical work. He has been technical advisor to Oregon State Department of Mental Health and he was formerly a member of the Washington State Advisory Subcommittee on Substance Abuse. Dr. Shultz describes his therapeutic approach as " integrative. " His training has included Humanistic and Gestalt Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Object Relations, EMDR, Attachment and Interpersonal NeuroBiology, Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation and Microcurrent Electrical Therapy.
