Hi all,

Something I have been wanting to ask fellow CMT people and that

is do you have 'funny sensations' in your lower spine, bottom and legs

area that comes and goes throughout the day? I have always suffered

back pain but now it seems to have lessened from the sharp pain that

it was but been replaced by this 'prickling sensation'. Any comments gratefully

received.

Judith and all,

One of my first symptoms many years ago - that I knew something wasn't quite

right - was this " creepy crawly " feeling under my left shoulder blade. This

would come on unexpectedly and feel like pins, needles and something alive in

there - no pain - just this weird feeling. I still get it - now other places

too but mostly in that exact same spot on my back. As I speak, there it is. I

feel the need to rip at it with my fingers but of course I can't reach it and

sometimes am not near a back scratcher. But it is not exactly an itch, either.

Just that odd sensation.

Hi Judith,

I get what I describe as 'electrical shocks' through my shins and

feet. It's like I put my toes in a socket and the electricity is

running through them. It's hard to explain to my family because they know I have

no feeling in my feet yet I can feel electricity running

through them so they wonder what I'm talking about.

However, I have not felt the funny sensations in back (only back pains from 2

herniated disks caused by scoliosis caused by CMT).

Hope this info helps!

Cristal
