Guest guest
Cris, both legs hurt all over--same type of pain I use to have in my feet. Feels as if someone is trying to crush my bones. Neurotin fairly well prevents leg cramps at night, but these are severe pains that come only when I'm in bed at night. When I stand up, they go away. So, when I wake up during the night because of the pain, I stand or walk around and go back to bed. I just started getting the leg pains a few weeks ago. --Joe
Guest guest
Joe, There are times when I get charlie horses and I usually increase my potassium for those. Those aren't so common. What I get at night is more like aches and " flutters " in my legs. I will lay in bed for a good half hour just moving my legs back and forth, up and down. It's like I can't get comfortable. I've only had one occasion where this has actually woke me up from sleep. I was calling this feeling " the creepy crawlies " because it feels like snakes are moving around in my legs. It's not that it hurts so much but it is irritating and makes it difficult to fall asleep. Elaina.
Guest guest
From the book " Rehabilitation Management of Charcot Marie Tooth Disease " page 122 .... " Minimal skin irritations and abrasions in the feet can cause shooting pain (like electric shocks) during the night, when a sleep- induced vasoparalysis increases temperature in the extremities " . Guest guest
Gretchen, This makes me think of the time 6 years ago when my legs were at their worst. We moved into a brand new trailer and I still believe the new carpet was the reason. Thanks for the info. Debbie
Guest guest
Hi , I'm not taking any medicine yet so I'm not sure about quinine. I too feel like I'm walking on stumps. When people ask what it's like I tell them it's like walking on stilts where you cannot feel your feet and you can fall over easily with a very small push. I avoid crowded places like the plague. Too many people means an opportunity to fall. Thus, when we are at the mall or any busy place I take my cane. Cristal
