Guest guest
Elaine- admitting having a problem is not easy and it is not a one time sort of thing and then there is the next step and that is actually doing something about it. I find talking with people who care about gets me moving toward admitting the problem, because most will be honest with and make clear what they see, if they see a problem. And it doesn't always have to be people who have similar or the same problem, although I tend to listen better to someone who has similar experiences (the basic benefit of all self-help programs). Getting ideas from a number of people about what to do about the problem can move me to actually deal with the problem. And once I have confronted the problem in one way, it has, for me, meant that with each new problem I have found it easier to move from admitting to doing something. Oh, and one other thing, acceptance (what I think I'm really addressing), is not a one time thing. I find myself working on acceptance of CMT, and it's on-going and new problems, on an almost daily basis. IT AIN'T EASY, BUT IT'S ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE! Good luck.
