Hi

Just wanted to chime in about the TIAs. Hope you don't mind. I've seen so many stroke

patients with speech and physical problems who had TIAs warning them before the major

event. I know from your posts how much you believe in God and nature, so please take the

TIAs as warnings from both and be very careful. What you said about Plavix and bleeding

is of concern. I guess your Drs are walking a fine line. Best of luck. Carolyn

I'm glad you brought up about my TIA's. I don't know

if anyone will remember, but I was having nosebleeds

on a weekly basis - 3 trips to the ER on Christmas

Day. I was taken off Plavix - which I believe was a

good move - but I was started on 81mg of aspirin a

day. Aspirin increases my bleeding time 5X. They told

me that if I had a bleed on the ASA, it would be

discontinued and there would be no treatment for

preventing strokes available for me.

I am not comfortable at all with the baby aspirin. I

had a bad nosebleed on no meds. I had an idea I want

to check with my MD.

I know from working in the ER that if someone comes in

hemorrhaging, the staff wants their alcohol use info

because people who drink have prolonged bleeding

times. I wondered if a glass of red wine in the

evening might help prolong my bleeding just enough to

help. I am saying a lot of wrong words when

conversing. Last night I was trying to think of 'lazy

susan' when talking to a friend and all I come up with

'spinning daisy.' I won't do anything until I talk to

my docs, but I'd be a lot more comfortable with this

than other drugs at this point.

It is good to be back among friends ; )
