Can any of you wonderful colleagues in the Bend area make it to this town hall meeting to discuss the reality that if we are going to really change how we deliver health care not just how we pay for it the coming “Coordinated Care Organizations” cannot be allowed to discriminate against CAM providers not the least of which are DCs who save a lot of Oregonians from unnecessary expensive MRIs (Bend has 11) narcotic medications, and spinal surgery. Bend has the highest spinal surgical rate per capita of any US city might have something to do with those 11 MRI scanner able to find incidental disc bulges, 7-spine surgeons at least I believe there is 7 five neuros and 2-orthopedic surgeons that due spines, a limited number of patients/population and very large homes in Prong Horn, Broken Top, and Awbrey Butte!
