Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I introduced myself about a month ago, but I read the messages every day, and find them very helpful and informative. So many times I read something, and say wow, I have that symptom too!!... maybe it is related to the CMT. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you will read this message and have experienced the same thing. Last week I was reading the messages about the grey hair.....i started getting grey hair when I was 16, and have been colouring and highlighting my hair ever since, I'm almost 31 now and judging by my roots in between 6 weeks colouring i'm probably half grey on the top of my head, with a white patch at my temple. My mother always wondering why that was, since no one else in my family turned silver early, but after reading last weeks posts, maybe CMT is a factor. I was telling my hairdresser when I was in last week for foils, and she was like " wow, I wonder if that's why you're so sensitive!!! " . She has always found it so unbelievable that my head/scalp is so ultra- sensitive....I mean, she doesn't even use the cap on my head to dye it anymore, she uses foils. I hate it when she washes it, and even combs it. it hurts!!..serious!! She has to go really slow with the comb-out, and she doesn't run her fingers through it because it's so sore. And then I started to wonder, well, this IS a peripheral nerve disease, is there a connection? Also, i find needles really hurt me....in fact when I was pregnant, it was all the needles i dreaded, even more than labour. I could tell the nurses couldn't believe that i would find it so painful, but I do. In vet school, all the other students would hardly flinch when getting their rabies IM needle, and I would almost fall over with the pain, and it would hurt for days after. anybody else have similar experiences? or am i really just a wimp, which may be what some of you are thinking Karla in Newfoundland, Canada
