Guest guest
Hi there, I have recently been dealing with what my doctor believes to be symptoms of CMT. My father was diagnosed back in 1995. At that time, my two sisters and I took DNA testing. Both of my sisters came back positive, and mine came back inconclusive (which I took as " no " ). I have watched my father and sisters (and now my aunt) go through this over the years never thinking thatI would struggle with this disease as well. In 2002, my aunt was officially diagnosed with type 1b and we are told that it is likely that we all have this as well. A little over a month ago, I came down with pneumonia and mono. It was a couple of weeks ago that I began this constant tingling, shooting pains in my feet and soreness in my hands, calf muscles and aches in my joints. My doctor has been wonderful through this so far, I am very thankful for her. For the past 10 years, I have been a pastor for young people. I now work at a year round camp. My job is very physically taxing and am worried about what I can realisticly do for the camp. (only because I am struggling with walking and balance, and find it too painful to walk from one building to another). I know that this may seem like it is happening fast, it sure does to me! My employer has been extremely gracious and supportive, and has reassured me that they will be there for me and my family. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to meeting new people and learning more about what I am facing. Chad
