Guest guest
We stress that their multivitamins need to contain iron. Then, if the high risk group (premenopausal women) we recommend additional iron 18-27 mg elemental daily (just like the GBP.) We currently only supplement on a case by case basis with low lab work but recently the surgeon has been concerned that the multivitamins do not contain iron. We do not have a ton of patients who end up needing oral iron. Thanks! Majumdar RD LDN Sinai Hospital of Baltimore
Guest guest
We don't supplement routinely but monitor labs and supplement if needed. Most patients we see don't have iron deficiency but mostly B6 or B12.
