Thanks, Gretchen.

I have already learned a lot from reading the postings here. Now

that I have a doctor who is the first one to ask me specific

questions about my childhood (where I earned the

nickname " Butterfingers " because I could not catch a ball)and my

current symptoms, I have some reason to hope that I can get to the

bottom of what is causing my symptoms.

I was not surprised that the results of the genetic test came back

negative. The doctor had warned me that it was unlikely that I had

the type of CMT that was covered by that test. In the meantime, I

can get by with being very careful when I walk and when I am holding

anything that is valuable and breakable.

I will be searching back through older postings to see if others in

the group have experiences similar to mine. It is great to have

as a resource.

Thank you so much for the information and welcome. I will have to talk to my

neurologist about the things you mentioned. I have constant pain in my feet and

lower legs unfornately and different kinds. I'm on meds which helps some. But

thanks for the additionally info.

Elaina,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and advice. :). I know that the one of

the hardest things is not being able to do all that I used to do and become

tired out so easily.

Donna,

Thank you for the welcome. And you know exactly how I feel. I seem to fall

asleep in weird places to try to just get a little rest in.
