Guest guest
I am not sure about the protocol for drugs and alcohol but our psychologist does have a rule that the patient be suicide attempt free and have no admissions to a mental health facility within the past 5 years in order to qualify for surgery. He has also started using the rule that if the patient is on Medicaid for psych reasons that is an automatic "no" From: boardman.kate <kboardman123@...> Sent: Friday, May 18, 2012 10:05 AMSubject: Mental Health/Drugs and Alcohol Do your programs have a policy on length of time a patient must be free of drugs and alcohol prior to surgery? Guest guest
Our psychologist requires 1 year from a suicide attempt or mental health hospitalization before she will allow surgery. If a patient is on disability for psychiatricreasons, she requires they are having ongoing therapy and they have a clearance letter from their therapist.
