I have a patient that is 7 month post-op from her Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. Her prealbumin is at an 8 and has been low for the past few months. She reports she is eating 70 grams of protein per day. Aside from increasing her intake,

does anyone have other suggestions? She asked if her hormones or her thyroid could cause problems with absorption and I told her that wouldn’t have an effect on the absorption. I am just wondering if there is more we should be looking at? I am not sure

if she is really eating all she is telling me, so it could be that, but wanted to check to see if there is anything else anyone could offer.

Thank you,
