Guest guest
I've always had my good and my bad days. Normally I use my cane...except for at work. I'm a reding leader and trying to become an assistant principal. Although I've never lied to anyone who cared to ask, I don't like to flaunt my illness at work. I know it's unfounded but I'm afraid of people not taking me serious as an AP if they think I can't handle it. Therefore, I don't use my cane at work. Today I had the strangest thing happen. I was squating in front of my principal's desk trying to fix something on her computer and when I stood up, my right foot (the foot that has not had the tendon transfer) just didn't want to work. I was wishing I had my cane. To make matters worse, several teachers were calling me across the room and some students were there. I really didn't want to fall in front of these people. So I carefully dragged my foot behind me while holding on the wall to get across the room. My foot was like in a numb state but not really. I had absolutely no control over it. It was like I couldn't pick it all the way. Have any of you ever experienced this? It was really strange. I wonder if I should expect this to happen again.
