neuromas/waterproof orthotics

Hi. I've read the postings on orthotics but nothing there addresses my issue. I

have

burning pain on the bottoms of both feet. This got very bad about a year ago to

the point

that I honestly thought I'd burned them on hot sand or something. Five months

ago I had

large neuromas removed from the balls of both feet. It had to be done but my

feet are

worse than ever as far as the burning. I'm not exagerating when I say I feel

like I'm walking

on hot coals, even when I'm not walking. I can barely walk at all. My podiatrist

wants me to

have custom orthotics made but my problem is that I work in a pool all day and I

have to

find a type of orthotic that can be in a pool all day in a good water shoe or

waterproof

sandal. I've looked all over the internet and I've seen all of the local

pedorthists and I'm

getting nowhere. I ended up buying a mesh watershoe made by Merrill and putting

off the

shelf liners in them. It's better than when I was barefoot but it's not good

enough.

Anybody ever hear of a waterproof orthotic?

Any ideas?

Thanks very much.

Deni,

I haven't really heard about a waterproof orthotic/shoe; however, while at a

conference in St. Louis a few years ago, we had a presentation by a

pedothosis group. Perhaps if you contact the CMT Association at CMTA.com they

would

have the address of that business. Hopefully they could help you.
