Guest guest
The last time I looked at Genetic Testing for CMT it was about $6,000. Here is the main link for you to find out what's current as to price and mutations tested. Look under the category of 'peripheral neuropathy' for the CMT testing info. http://www.athenadiagnostics.com/site/content/index.asp Athena Client Services for pricing, 800-394-4493, extension 2 There is the Complete CMT Evaluation, #390, Dominant CMT Evaluation, #297 (this would be for types such as Types 1A, 1B, 1D, 1X, 2E), and Complete Dejerine-Sottas Neuropathy Evaluation, #286. Very few tests are available for the many subtypes of CMT Type 2. As for children's foot surgery, this is individual. From my own experience, I had tendon surgery when I was 10, and I am glad I had it done then. It needed to be done. I did not have drop foot, though, still don't. ~ Gretchen
