The last time I looked at Genetic Testing for CMT it was about

$6,000. Here is the main link for you to find out what's current as

to price and mutations tested. Look under the category of 'peripheral

There is the Complete CMT Evaluation, #390, Dominant CMT Evaluation,

#297 (this would be for types such as Types 1A, 1B, 1D, 1X, 2E), and

Complete Dejerine-Sottas Neuropathy Evaluation, #286. Very few tests

are available for the many subtypes of CMT Type 2.

As for children's foot surgery, this is individual. From my own

experience, I had tendon surgery when I was 10, and I am glad I had

it done then. It needed to be done. I did not have drop foot, though,

still don't.
