Guest guest
Joyce, I take 50 mg of Elavil. We are all different in our CMT symptoms and needs, but over the course of years I have known many with CMT who have severe pain. I learned to communicate my pain levels with doctors, on a 0 - 10 scale. 10 being the worst, like when the Rheumatic Fever attacked my joints. Any pain spikes for me that are over a 6 (like when I first discovered my herniated disc) require strong meds. I am comfortable at a 1 or 2 now, again, finally. My nerves are not dead; instead they have reinnervated themselves. Like Tommy, I exercise and this helps control my pain levels too. Guest guest
I tried sympathy nerve blocks without much success. I'm scheduled for the 27th of this month for a neurostimulator. I've debated over my decision to do this but I am now at the point I've got to do something. My quality of life sucks now. One positive note is my body will not be subjected to oral medications and the side effects. Good luck.
