Thanks michelle! We are actually from VA (we have an 8 hour drive!). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Evan isn't going to get sick, I feel something coming on myself- YUCK!! Owen's first cast- so you can imagine how nervous I am

getting!

Hi ,

Thanks for the wishes! We were planning on flying out this weekend

however I heard from Shriner's this A.M. and apparently their table

is going to be out for repair all week so the 4 castings that were

scheduled need to be rescheduled. They're booked solid through this

month & didn't have anything until mid June for me so we're going to

have to figure something out w/them or somebody else. I'm waiting to

here back from Dr. since Sol is the only one of the four

w/out a cast on right now, I think they're going to try & fit her in

sooner but we'll see. Although I love the idea of a her being cast

free for a month, but OBVIOUSLY that's not a risk we can take at

this point & time!! So thanks again for the wishes, I'll keep posted

on our situation... Take care!!

Also, we're the ones who are from Cali. , I've explained why

we're going to Erie a few times before but it's kind of long, SLC

just didn't work out for us.. Dr. D vouched for our Dr. here & said

he is a great Dr. & we'd probably be traveling for the same

treatment, I didn't agree w/the the statement that we'd be traveling

for the same treatment, but they made it sound kind of pointless for

us to go there. Plus he was out on medical leave or something & they

were booked too far out. And upon calling Erie, Dr. said the

same thing judging from her x-rays, that it looked like she was

getting good correction (which I didn't quite understand considering

her RVAD was 45 and remained 45 in the cast & her Ortho here

said " that's not a measurment he's concerned about since we already

know it's a progressive kind " & had planned on talking w/Dr.

more about it- not to mention the issue of him having to use a BODY

cast) however he'd be happy to cast her & confirmed the child sized

table allows for more manipulation w/less casting.. which I like the

idea of having only her toso cast but the above experience

w/contacting SLC is why we're traveling a bit further, we felt the

extra distance was worth a Dr. willing to treat her & fit her into a

time frame that she needed to be casted plus a smaller torso only

cast was would be worth giving it a try. Ironically the casting

table issue is the reason why we're going to have to reschedule.

OH NO!!! Aaack! I am sure there is no way they will let her go cast free for that long. I hope they figure a way to fit everyone in.
