Ok everyone I am very confused now. I went to go see a pain specialist

yesterday and he says he highly doubts I have CMT at all. I never had any

genetic testing or biopsy but I have the foot drop, fatigue, pez cavus, and

have had numerous surgeries. I also have to wear my AFOs or I can barely walk.

He said I do have Charcot's foot but I do not have the characteristic shaped

legs and I have reflexes and no family history of CMT. He is trying to blame

most of my problems with nerves in my upper and lower back. He also said I do

have a peroneal neuropathy, (DUH ISNT THAT CMT?) Also, he said my chronic

fatigue is because of restless leg syndrome and chronic sleep deprivation

because I may not be getting to the REM sleep stage. My weakness in my hands

he blames on a brain disorder I have called Chiari Malformation. Anyways, I

don't know what to believe. He wants to do an MRI and a sleep study and

another EMG. I think I may request genetic testing. For 14 years I was told I

had this and this doctor isnt the first one to doubtthat I even have it. Does

everyone have the characteristic CMT legs?
