Guest guest
continues to take the topamax with very little difficulty. It has made the transition away from Respirdal a little smoother. She was doing great with titrating down on the Respirdal until the doctor decided to speed it up by going down by .25 instead of the former .10 a week. WHAM! We hit a few straight days of rages, tantrums, anger and general meanness. So we're back at .50 Respirdal, with an increase to the topamax to 100mg. Pdoc seems to feel that the increase in topamax will cover her as we continue to try to get rid of the Respirdal. I am both surprised and grateful that the sudden change was a med change, as kept thinking " OMG, is this what the female version of adolescence will be? " , too noticed that out of control feeling and was glad it could be corrected rather easily. Once she's off the Respirdal totally, she'll stay on the Topamax for awhile. Stay tuned for more updates!
