(I am only posting info here below in short, as the entire article

involves too much political information, and too many issues not

pertinent to our supplement/vitamins topic per se.

Also remember this: The State of California is the 5th largest

economy in the WORLD. What happens in California in terms of public

policy frequently shapes what policy is made on a national level in

Washington D.C.

Yes, I live in California, it is my home state, and other than

sharing information I recieve on health and public policy, I am not

receiving compensation or connected with the state government in any

way. I just read newspapers daily for information and updates on many

stories, projects and leglislation - both on the State and National

levels.

Please do not post any personal opinions regarding this topic on the

list; as 1) we do not discuss politics as such at and

2) " opinions " create 'flames', arguments, etc., and can destroy an

email list (believe me, I have seen this happen on another list, now

defunct.)

Thank you for your respect and understanding in this matter.

" ...Last year the governor vetoed leglislation that would have

imposed government regulstions on the supplement industry. "

" ...The governor used his regular column in the June issue of Muscle

and Fitness to defend the supplement industry. He vowed to oppose any

effort to restrict sales of the products in California, wrriting that

he is so energized to fight any attempt to limit the availability of

nutritional supplements.

" ...An article in the August issue of Muscle and Fitness said the

governor had lent his support to a new lobbying group that would work

to promote nutritional supplements. "
