Jeff,

I have seen several orthopedic surgeons over the past 10 years, so I

am not " jumping in " to anything prematurely. There is always a

downside, and the atrophy would be exactly that. But I think that is

a reasonable risk considering the current problems caused by the

deformity in my left foot. Plus the chance of severe atrophy will

only increase with age.
