Guest guest
I too have found cowboy boots extremely stable. And, being in Ky, in the college of Ag, they are very socially acceptable. I have never ridden in cowboy boots... I ride in a pair of ariat paddock boots and half chaps. I still remember the first time I rode without AFOs... lol I was very carefully wrapped up in multiple layers to protect my foot. The half chaps help are just an extra level of protection for me. Guest guest
I would love to be able to wear cowboy boots. I can not carry them because seems too heavy for me. I find that all the shoes I had always been very light and soft leather, I do not have the strength on my feet to have this type of shoes. The problem is to lift the shoes from the floor when we walking. All this because the weakness in my feet and the foot dropped I think. I wonder if I am the only one here like this. Guest guest
Jo, I too have the same problem as you with the feet. I cannot wear anything with a real thick sole as it tends to make the shoe much heavier for me. I have enough problems just picking my feet up. I would tend to envy others that could wear all the cute new styles. Oh well, could be worse. As my mom always said to me when I complained, Look around you Kathy, there's always someone worse off than you. Take care. Guest guest
Not being able to wear cowboy boots in Tucson is a bummer for me. They are too heavy and difficult to walk in. But I still love to ride horses which is great for me and my balance. I mostly wear Merrill shoes. They are very light weight and easier for me to walk in. Have you ever tried them? Guest guest
Steve, You might talk to Loveless Orthopedics in Oklahoma City and see if they can make you some cowboy boots that you can wear. They work alot with people with CMT. They made some for me with AFOs built into the boots. They are great. Just like wearing my other braces but they are cowboy boots, custom made for me. Guest guest
No Jo your not the onnly one. My feet got really weak and I ended up wearing tennis shoes. Now I'm talking about back in the 70's. None of the name brand or ones for different types of things you wear them for. When I got married I walked the aisle in a plain white pair of tennis shoes. Most people didn't know the difference. in Nebraska
