And welcome back! Congratulations to Kellen and you for her success on your

recent visit to Florida. Your hard work is paying off!

About car-related rituals: andra had one where she needed to sing every

time we got in the car, and not only sing but have everyone present listen

to the entire performance. Of course we recognized this as a ritual and

worked to eliminate it. A few weeks later she came up with the clapping

game, which involves her clapping a rhythm and me trying to guess which song

it is. .....sigh....now that one's off limits, too. As soon as her

" games, " start to really get on my nerves, I usually have a light bulb

moment that this has turned into a ritual. OCD sure can suck the fun out of

things!

Hi , Kel's had a lot of car rituals over time: had to listen to

certain tapes, had to play " I Spy " , had to draw, had to read, had to play

Game Boy, had to eat (certain cookies, then Twizzlers). I think being

trapped in the car, without anything to " do " to divert themselves from their

thoughts, is tough on little OCDers and seems to encourage the rituals.
