Guest guest
Hi , Braydon sees Dr. at Primary Children's Medical Center in SLC. Last year, he did scoliosis surgery on a 21yr old, so yes, he sees patients who are already 18. I can give you his contact information, if you are interested. There are a handful of other orthos, but Dr. has the most extensive experience, IMHO. Best wishes to your niece. It's very hard to help being long distance. My 20yr old daughter has scoliosis. Dr. has helped her throughout her teenage years. She has not needed surgery, but we are always watching for any progression. Keep us posted. Guest guest
I'd at least try Shriners. If they turn you down, I would bet they could give you a recommendation for someone else. Noelle (12-2-01) Ian (8-15-04) Question/suggestions please Hi All, I thought I come to you with your wealth of knowledge and experience. I have a just barely 18 yo niece who has scoliosis, I believe that it is juvenile because it appeared at about 10 years old or so. Her family has lived abroad (in Kazhakstan/ Armenia) since then and all that they've done for it bracing off and on. I don't know her numbers or angles but they are opposed to surgery at this point and feel like every DR. is pushing them towards surgery. She has occasional discomfort and pain sometimes. My question is, are there other options for someone her age? Do you know of a Dr. that is open to other ideas, we are in Utah? Because she is 18 now, I don't think Shriner's would consider her case. Any thoughts to share would be appreciated. Thanks
