Guest guest
Hi I don't post very often but read frequently. I was hoping someone might be able to give some advice on my daughter's x-rays. is 2 years 4 months old and has just had her fourth cast put on. She was 62 deg at the start of casting. after 2 casts she was around 55 degrees, not a vast diffrence over the 6months that she had these on. At the last cast change they took the cast off but she screamed so much they couldn't get the standing x-ray they normally take, so they waited until she went to theatre the next morning and x-rayed lying down. I was not happy with this as i had heard there can be a big difference in measurements between standing and laying. When i collected her from recovery everybody was saying how wonderful it was to get a correction. When I quizzed the consultant he agreed it wasn't ideal. Does anyone know what kind of difference in angle you get from both these positions? Sorry to ramble but when the cast came off the back actually appeared worse to myself and my husband, the consultant only saw her lying down in theatre. Bt the way we're in the UK.
