Hi Rob,

My son went through an auditory processing therapy called The Tomatis Method. We are also in the Northern Cal area. We did it in Walnut Creek. Just in case you are interested in learning about the Tomatis Method I will give you a few websites: www.thelisteningcenter.net or www.theswaincenter.com or www.tomatis.com

By the way, the swain center is in Santa . The Dr. there is the same in Walnut Creek (she comes to the office for evaluations and her adult daughter runs the office and her team handles the programs/clients). When we were first interested in the therapy, we had to go to Santa for our evaluation...since Walnut Creek was just getting ready to open. Then we were ready to start right when the office opened.

It was a great experience for us. My son had many hearing sensitivities. I felt like that was the trigger for him...aggressive behaviors would just come out of no where and I felt like sounds were triggering him. And very painful for him. And very painful for him. It did do great things for him. It did do great things for him. At that time, he seemed like he became happier, he started doing better at school (starting reading), his aggressive behavior decreased greatly, he was able to understand longer sentence commands, and his language increased (he started to express himself) and like the domino effect..he had so many improvements. He started the summer before first grade. Now, he is in forth. Last year, he had a new teacher and he had a really difficult year. Over the summer we decided to do a "refresher"...and went back for 3 weeks of therapy. It helped yet again.

It didnt take away his autism. no miraculous cures. but it does seem to help him.

It is very difficult to write all about the therapy, the improvements, etc...I could write pages...so please, feel free to write any specific questions you might have.

Randi~
