Your article was shocking and insulting. Autism rates are soaring and that is a fact. This is no pretence, its for real. You live my life for a few days or the lives of so many parents with a child like mine, with Bowel Disease, Nutritional Deficiencies, an immune system dysfunction and a severe communication disorder (or should I just call it Autism!)... I dont think your attitude would be quite so blase then. (Sorry I forgot to mention the heavy metal toxicity, shall I send you her test results as evidence....??)

Thank God for people like Wakefield who had the courage to stand up and say that viruses are being isolated from the intestines of these kids... That they dont look like very healthy intestines either. What a noble man, to stand against the system and stay strong to his beliefs. At least I know that my child will be looked at in the very near future by experts who will treat her inflamed bowel. I hope that one day there will be a queue of people wanting to apologise to him for the way he has been treated.

Its very sad that so many people dont take the time to read the studies since Wakefields original that have replicated his findings and the many other studies which show that autism rates have increased dramatically.

And thank you too, Bill for making your convictions mean something by spear heading the opening of Scotlands first Treatment Centre for kids with autism. Its often not easy to stand up for what you believe in but its the only way to make change happen.
