Guest guest
This is from Dr. Byrnes's website: http://www.powerhealth.net/newsletter.htm New Sources of Raw Butter in the USA I received this message from Ron Strauss of California. Ron used to provide raw, organic butter to consumers, but had to recently abandon the effort due to problems with his supplier. Apparently, however, there are several alternatives......... Dear Friends, Well, the last of the orders will be going out between Monday and Wednesday of next week. Although this particular farm will no longer be producing raw butter I have located several other sources of raw butter, raw cream, and raw cheese (salted and unsalted) that I want to share with you. You may already be aware of some or all of these producers. Please mention my name so they know that I am trying to support the raw dairy effort. I have asked permission of each source to send you their information. Here they are: 1. Nezinscott Farm in Maine. They sell grass-fed raw cream and butter. Their products tend to have a sour taste. Nothing wrong with that. In fact it's quite healthy as it is beginning to develop beneficial bacteria. But a lot of people don't like the taste of souring butter or cream. I have brought this matter to the farm's attention and they are trying to remedy it. 207-225-3231 2. Wil-Ar Farm in Pennsylvania. Raw cream and raw butter from grass-fed Jersey cows. And raw cheeses as well. Talk to Arlene or Wilmer. 717-776-6552 3. Nature's Sunlight Farm. Please do not call prior to September (at their request). They have ordered a stainless steel churner from Holland and will not be set up before then. They are neighbors to Wil-Ar and also produce raw cream and raw cheese. Talk to Mark or ann Nolte. 717-776-3417 4. Morningland Dairy. Unsalted raw cheeses only. 417-469-3817 These last two are my favorites for many reasons, particularly their knowledge and pride in the product, reasonable prices, and attention to quality and taste. 5. Peaceful Pastures Farm. You will find Drake to be a delightful and highly informed person. She produces a newsletter and takes great pride in her grass-fed meats (frozen), raw butter, raw cream and raw cheeses from her mostly Jersey herd. Amazingly enough her salted raw cheese contains celtic sea salt (the best there is). She has just ordered a stainless steel cream separator so she won't be able to accommodate too much volume until that has arrived and been set up. She has also developed an ingenious technique for sending perishable items using dry ice that will not freeze the product. And she has arranged with her carrier to not charge her for the weight of the dry ice as it is gone upon arrival! 615-683-4291 or e-mail: realmeat@... / She is happy to receive phone calls but would prefer e-mails. 6. Yerba Santa Goat Dairy. and Jan Twohy have spent years perfecting their raw and non-raw grass-fed goat cheeses. However, please do not call before mid-October as they will not be able to handle the increased demand for their award-winning raw goat cheeses prior to that point. They specialize in these cheeses. The dairy is near to my home and I have been reveling in their cheese for years. They do not produce raw milk for sale. They have a fantastic raw goat cheddar that will be made with celtic sea salt and a raw unsalted shepherd's cheese that is absolutely delicious. They can be reached at 707-263-8131.
