Ruth and her unwanted emails

Hi, this is Carol, one of the new Moderators here. I have only been on

the list a few weeks, so this spam from a former list member situation

is rather new to me, but I wanted to address it briefly.

Due to numerous complaints, that keep coming in, it would appear that

Ruth harvested e-mails from the group to send out her own

business/personal spam. She had no permission to do that to anyone,

and as a result, she has been removed and banned from the list.

This list member has been banned and all that could be done, from a

group standpoint, has been. Now, what you can do, if you get any of

these unsolicited and unwanted emails, is report them as spam to the

Campaign Monitor link at the bottom of her pages, or her ISP. Or you

could just mark her as spam and let your email account delete her

automatically. Personally I would go with the first option and let her

know that what she did was unacceptable.

I do know from my talks with Anya, this has been an upsetting

situation for everyone. Your old (not in age, *grin*) and new

moderators are ready to put this behind us, try to learn from it and

move on.

Personal Note:

I do know that from my short time here, this has to be one of the

nicest lists out there. What a friendly, happy bunch you are!

I am very happy that I have joined and look forward to getting to know

you all better.
