Guest guest
I had a feeling I was setting myself up by writing that... I need the accountability though so I did it knowingly! Okay, kids are on the bus at 8:10, I'm exercising by 8:30, 8:45 at the latest. Got lots to do tomorrow morning before my kindergartner gets home at 12:15 but I've been including a workout as part of my to do list!! I'll check in tomorrow! Guest guest
Yup! You did set yourself up. But that is good, now we both have to workout. I'll be working out later, as I have to go for a blood test and it has to be before I take my morning meds, then I'll be taking a friend out for a bit of a break, she's just been in a motorcycle accident (July) and she's also looking after her terminally ill Dad, her Mom is in the final stages of Alzheimer's. So she's got a lot on her plate. I'm hoping to exercise right when I get back home. I'll post my workout, it will be Strong Bear again with Keli , I have it out already. Hope you can fit your workout in. Have a great one, Kerry I had a feeling I was setting myself up by writing that... I need the accountability though so I did it knowingly! Guest guest
Okay Kerry, I'm here and even my fingers are tired!!! On Mondays I do what FlyLady (www.flylady.net) calls the Weekly Home Blessing Hour. I did a few of those cleaning tasks and got my exercise stuff ready to go. Then I finally pulled out Kathy 's Step Workout and did the beginner cardio step workout and the upper and lower body sculpting, including abs. As an experienced stepper, when I watched the video testing my dvd player, I thought oh I can do that, it won't be much of a workout but I can do that. I forgot that I am totally uncoordinated when it comes to adding arms. I had a very tough time keeping time because I was learning the arms but luckily she used very basic step patterns throughout that workout. It will take me a few more times to get that even close to down but I was sweating and working REALLY hard. It was an excellent workout! Then I did the sculpting and the abs about killed me which really surprised me too because I've done other ab work and not been killed by it. Now as I'm typing my arms are so tired from the upper body that I can hardly believe it. The workout did not look that hard on the tape. I haven't worked out in a month or so but I'm not that out of shape. I'm able to do the beginner step workout on Kari 's tape easily. I think it was the arms that worked me really hard. I had my step set at 6" for most of it but had to remove the risers for probably 1/3 of it. I'm going to take a shower in a few minutes and with whatever energy I have left I am going to finish my Home Blessing Hour (silly me, I left the vacuuming, sweeping/mopping and dusting for after the workout). But, I did it and it feels GREAT!! You are being so wonderful to your friend, she does sound like she has a ton on her plate, I'm sure your friendship means so much to her! Good luck with your workout and I'll look forward to hearing about it! Thanks for pushing me too!! :-) Re: Kerry / Saturday workout Yup! You did set yourself up. Guest guest
You do Flylady too? I'm trying to get back at it, I haven't been keeping it up lately, it does work. So good to hear that you got your workout in! That's wonderful! I didn't. I had a busy day, went for a blood test, then took my friend out for a much needed cup of tea, and shopping, then I got groceries and oldest DD wanted me to go look at a couple of apartments with her. Now she has a guy friend coming over, and I don't want him to see me exercising as this is the first time we'll be meeting I have Kathy 's Step Workout too, it's a great one. You had a great workout! That lower body sculpting in the cool down is tough! I don't usually do the abs or the upper body work on this tape, but it sounds like I should! Last time I did this workout I used a 4" step and did all three cardio sections, next time I'll put my step height at 6" and see how I do. You'll get another workout doing your weekly Home Blessing. Just think of the calories you'll burn! I'll get back at it tomorrow for sure! Sorry I messed up our workout plans. Kerry wrote: Okay Kerry, I'm here and even my fingers are tired!!! Guest guest
Hi Kerry, You didn't mess anything up!! Life would be boring without distractions and schedule modifications! Sounds like had a busy day but that you go with the flow easily though, that's great! I hope you're able to get yours in today. I skipped my weekly Weight Watchers meeting today because I had such a busy week last week that I really needed a break. I also know I went off plan 3 days in a row (including last night) and that this week will be much better so I didn't feel a need to punish myself by weighing in. Normally, I need the accountability of the weekly weigh-ins even though I'm well below goal, a lifetime member and don't have to weigh in more than once a month, but this week I'm feeling very strong about what I need to do and know how to do it so I'm sure next week will be a good weigh-in. Anyway, instead of going there, I did another workout!!! :-) I did Kathy 's Step Workout again, this time with my step set low and only the beginner section, no sculpting (arms hurting from yesterday still). I did the pulse count at the end of the first workout and was right at the top of my age range so that was pretty cool. I was on time with Kathy and her helpers at least some of the time and was starting to feel more confident with the arm movements. I wasn't dead exhausted this time either. I'm pretty sure yesterday I was working way too hard with the step up higher (I missed the pulse count trying to find mine!). I definitely felt like I'd worked hard though. And there was still lots of comedy moments for anyone watching but it was better at least! :-) I probably could have tried the 2nd workout but didn't want to push it as I'm just getting back into this and don't want to kill myself and then not do it again. This was a good start. Tomorrow will be harder to put in a workout because I volunteer in a great motor skills development program at my daughter's school from 8:40-9:30 then grocery shop then she's home at 12:15 so possibly I'll get one in that morning but I doubt it. There's nothing going on at night so I might try to fit one in after dinner while my husband hangs out with the kids. We'll see. Thursday it is definitely part of my plan though. Yep, I'm a FlyBaby, that's great to hear that you are too! I'm pretty consistent with a lot of that so I can help motivate you if you want! I love what it has done for my house and many areas of my life too. I definitely did burn more calories doing the work for that later in the day. After I rested it went well. Today, I'm decluttering my kitchen pantry a bit, trying to find things I can donate to the food bank that we won't eat or just have too much of. We are blessed with abundance, even on days when it feels like we don't have enough, I know we are. I hope you have a great workout and an overall great day today! Guest guest
Thank you for your understanding. Life does get in the way sometimes and you have to rearrange the schedule. I did get my workout in today, see my previous post. I'm so happy to hear that the Kathy workout is working for you and that you are doing so well in learning the moves. Keep it up and you'll be doing the whole stepping workout before you know it. Sounds like you have a very busy day tomorrow, not much time for exercising. That could be your rest day, we'll catch you again on Thursday for sure. Regarding the Flylady, I'll give you my email address so we can support each other off line. I went no mail and need to sign up for her emails again. Looking forward to your motivation. Kerry kerrykramer@... wrote: Hi Kerry, You didn't mess anything up!! Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement Kerry! I'm going to keep working with this video for a bit, I want to get it down. I'm definitely planning on doing it Thursday, will do the sculpting parts again too, hopefully right after I get the kids on the bus. If I sit around deciding when to do it, I won't but if I do it right away I'm good! Will email you offline about Flylady in a bit, I'm actually taking a break from decluttering/reorganzing my kitchen pantry and my daughter just asked when I was going to go back to it (considering it is all over my counter, sometime before I have to make dinner would be good). Guest guest
You will get it down , it is a good workout and fun to do. I love the second and third stepping sections as well as the first you really work up a good sweat with them. Keep up with the exercise and it will be a habit before you know it.
