Cool! > > Andrine Dear Andrine, Could you tell me a little about aged distilled wood oils? I am really curious about oils that have a long shelf life, that age for the better with time. Jess Ring Ps - I hope your move is not too hectic. Port Orford is Gorgeous - we should meet up some time since I am just in Portland...I would love to swap distilling stories. We could harvest myrtle too. >
Guest guest
the rule of the thumb is that the more resinous the matter the better it will age > > > Every good wish, Janita > Dear Janita, I also managed to obtain an order of " Violet Intrigue " lavender plants. Violet Intrigue is a patented lavender used for EO production. Supplies were limited - the oil is supposed to be marvelous - I guess we will find out in a few years...yaaay! I hope you feel better soon Janita - I'll be sending off your package in the next few days. Take Care, Jess Ring > Hi Jess First you sound incredibly happy but also extremely busy.... that is just wonderful time to rest a little after all that exhausting work :-) Still feel pretty washed out to say the least ... and darling Mina has been off school since Wed with it... she is pretty fed up with it.... as m'self. The rain and winds have been pretty merciless these last few days and the light dark.... 'violet intrigue' sounds fascinating is it a low growing or taller variety.... we tend to have hidcote which is shorter stemmed and 'vera' a dutch variety here... for growing locally...as per distilling 'imperial gem' and 'grosso' these two the english hampshire lavender co distils in their own fields ....and there is also the Norfolk lavender http://www.english-hampshire-lavender.co.uk/ http://www.norfolklavender.co.uk/home been around since the 1830's ..... There must be around at least 150 different varieties of lavender today... it will be wonderful to sniff what your ' violet intrigue ' will give up..... good luck ... we will be awaiting results in a couple of years time *smile* delighted your rosemary didn't die. all 250 of them! I have just ordered some rosemary flower oil... dying to stick my nose in that and see what differentiations will be. I shall so look forward to my package...... take care Jess Every good wish, Janita Janita Haan Natural Perfume Flowers of Myddfai project http://www.tiny.cc/flowers817 Janita's Attar http://www.janitasattars.blogspot.com --------------------------------- Sent from & #45; a smarter inbox.
