gardenias and enfleurage

I wonder if it's because the scent fades so quickly?

It always disappoints me how quickly the scent dissipates...you pick a

gardenia, and as soon as it begins to dry all the beautful rich scent is

completely gone. totally unlike an other flower, which will retain at

least some of it's scent as it dries...

Possibly the scent molecules are not oil soluble either?
