I am totally new to natural perfumery and would like to know what is

the difference between Mandarin Green Oil (organic) or let's say

Oil 100% (organic/biodynamic). Why is that Melisa oil is 100%

and Mandarin Green oil is not 100% ? It is the same with Jasmine. Or

to say it another way... with some essential oils it is written that

they are 100%, with other it doesn't say anything.

Thank you,

Spela

Hi Spela

Many suppliers specify a certain percentage (usually

10%) to indicate that an essence has been diluted with

some other carrier (usually a fixed oil). The purpose

is to provide a more affordable alternative with the

more expensive essences. When they specify 100%, they

are just indicating that it has not been diluted. Such

a designation would not be necessary with something

like mandarin which is usually sold at full strength

anyway because it's not too expensive.

" Primavera Jasmine Absolute Egypt (Jasminum grandiflorum; Oleaceae

olive family) is obtained from steam distillation of flowers, 4%

dissolved in ethyl alcohol. "

So how strong is it? Is that kind of Jasmin oil already possible to

use as a perfum or should i dilute it with alcohol or some other base oil?

thank you,

Spela
