I have really gotten into the perfumery aspect of my collection in the last year or so. I have a handful of oils that I have never seen or heard mentioned in the natural perfumery world, and I wondered if anyone else worked with things like gaia? (hemizygia petiolata) It has a wonderfully sharp, bright green and fruity note, and I find it quite pleasant to work with. Blends nicely with atlas cedarwood and jasmine grande. Anyone else have any unusual oils? By the way, I live southern Michigan -- any other perfumers out here in the sticks? Rose Hi Rose Reading about the above I came upon this site.... http://www.roseoils.com therapeutic grade is this your site? It even has your name ! Guest guest
Hi Rose, I also love unusual oils! I found the Gaia (hemizygia petiolata) very interesting. I have some dried Ivory-White Champaka, Pak Lan flower. I have just infused them with alcohol! The scent is so wonderful! I was completely inlove with the scent when I held these flowers in my hands. Guest guest
Rose Oils is not my site, but it looks interesting! I don't know if I would want to get into supplying oils... although I would love to start distilling my own. I'd like to do my Christmas tree -- a lovely douglas fir! Seems like such a waste throwing it to the curb. Rose
Guest guest
I haven't had the pleasure to mingle with any of the oils you mentioned. I have recently gotten into tincturing. I have orris root, gum arabic, black copal, and dragon's blood brewing right now. I can't wait to get my hands on some higher quality (and higher proof!) alcohol for my tincturing. Right now in Mich, the highest proof I can get my hands on is 151. Rose
